this is a very cool idea for a piece that hasnt had the exposure it deserves - the red rays coming out of the sun remind me of the japanese symbol -- is that deliberate? also, i just like it because it's got raised fists and a huuuge smilyface, and i interpret it as meanin "im happy. if you dont like it, i will fight you."

Hey, thnx 4 the :+fav:. It was done mainly in Photoshop. The fist and forearm were drawn then scanned in and duplicated. I touched them up and tweaked the contrast. The the smiley face was done as a vector then imported. Tweak the color, add a bit of Russian type, a white texture over the entire piece (black in some places), and viola!

Hehe, I read it as the Cyrillic alphabet first and just thought: "That can't possibly mean anything! What a dumb word!":P
Anyway, nice picture. I think western propaganda needs more smiley faces too.
